Larry Langdon, President
Larry has been a member of the COPF Board since 1984, and has served 5 terms as elder of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church. He also currently serves on a number of other boards, including Fuller Theological Seminary, Village Enterprise Fund, and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Larry is also Partner and Director of Global Tax Services for Mayer Brown LLP. He received BS and law degrees from Ohio State University, and an LL.M. (Taxation) from New York University Law School. Larry and Sue, his wife of 48 years, have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren.
Bill Frimel, Vice President
Bill has served three terms as elder of MPPC, and was the MPPC CFO from 2002 to 2009. On the COPF board, he chairs the property management committee, and has lent his expertise to countless home purchases and remodels. Bill is also active in the City of Menlo Park, serving on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and numerous committees. Bill graduated from Washington University and received his MBA from Santa Clara University. He and Joanne have been married for 46 years, and have 2 children and six grandchildren.
Thomas J. Curran, Treasurer
Tom is a long-time member and deacon of MPPC. He has been a COPF director since 1998, and currently serves as Treasurer. Tom also serves as the president of the Trinity Guardian Foundation, and on the investment committees of the Mount Hermon Association and Kiwanis Foundation of Menlo Park. Tom has a BA from State University of New York at Stony Brook, an MA from Colgate University, and an MBA from University of Detroit. He is married to Barbara Tyler, and works as a Certified Financial Planner.
Amy L Arnold, Secretary
Amy joined the board of COPF in 2007. She and her family have been members of MPPC for 15 years, and she has served as elder, deacon, and co-president of Mothers Together. She also worked on MPPC’s staff in 2007 to help launch the Mountain View and San Mateo campuses. Amy has a BS from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business. She currently works in the Stanford Office of Public Affairs, and Amy and her husband Scott have 3 school-age children.
C. Preston Butcher
Preston has been an elder of MPPC and a COPF director for many years, and he also chairs a group in East Palo Alto, which provides assistance to many education and faith-based organizations in that area. He is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Partners, which develops and manages income property in the western United States. Preston received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas. He and his wife, Carolyn, have two children and five granddaughters.
Robin D. Faisant
Rob has been a member of MPPC since 1976, and has served as deacon, elder and leader of various committees. He has also been a director of COPF and the Mount Hermon Association for many years, serving as President and Secretary of both. Rob is graduate of Stanford Law School, and works as an estate planning attorney in Menlo Park. He and his wife Nancy have three grown daughters, all "married with children".
Russ Hall
Russ Hall has been a member of MPPC for over 20 years and a member of the COPF board since 2007. He has served as elder twice, and is a teacher for Bible Boot Camp. Along with his wife Debbie, he has been a deacon and moderator of the Growing Families adult fellowship class. Russ is the founder of Legacy Venture, a philanthropic venture fund, as well as chairman of Legacy Works, a public 501 c 3 whose mission is support of the field of philanthropy. Russ holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MS from the University of California at Berkeley, and a BS from the United States Military Academy. He and Debbie have one daughter who is in college.
John H. Jenks
John joined MPPC with his wife Laurie in 1953, and became an Elder in 1956, serving numerous terms on Session. He joined the COPF board in 1981. John taught Sunday School, high school and adult Bible studies for many years, has served on multiple Pastor Nominating Committees, and has been active in the Saturday morning Men’s Bible Study since it was founded. John retired as Senior Vice-President and co-founder of Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, Scientists and Engineers. He and Laurie have four children, six grandchildren and "currently" one great-grandson.
Duncan Matteson
Duncan Matteson , a Kansas City , Missouri native, graduated from the University of Missouri. He and his wife, Shirley, joined Menlo Park Presbyterian Church in 1980, where Duncan served two terms as an elder. He has also served for more than 20 years as a trustee of COPF, and for many years was in charge of all the Foundation’s properties. He is active in many community organizations and is the past chairman of the board of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation and the Greater Bay Bancorp financial services companies that merged with Wells Fargo Bank in 2007. In their spare time, Duncan and Shirley enjoy traveling with their children and grandchildren.
Dean Riskas
Dean Riskas serves on COPF’s Board and Finance Committee. An MPPC member for over 35 years, Dean also served as a deacon and elder. He currently is the President of TriplePoint Capital, a Silicon Valley based specialty finance company, and a Board Member of The Ronald McDonald House and the UCLA Board of Governors. Dean holds an MBA in Accounting/Finance and a BA in Economics from UCLA. Dean and his wife, Clary, were married at MPPC in 1978 and have three grown children.
Dennis Singleton
Dennis has been a member of MPPC since 1973, and has served as an elder and as a director of COPF for the past ten years. He also serves on the board of the Glaucoma Research Foundation, as Vice Chairman of Lehigh University’s Board of Trustees, and as an active supporter of Young Life. Dennis has a BA from Lehigh University and an MBA from Harvard University. He and his wife, Charlot, have three children.
Jim Palmer, Board Advisor
Jim joined MPPC in 1961, served as elder and deacon, and helped start COPF by developing its articles of incorporation and bylaws in 1974. He has been an active board member and advisor, serving as editor of COPF’s Opportunities Magazine for the past 20 years and as legal counsel for the Foundation. Jim graduated from Stanford University and Stanford Law School. He and his wife, Marilyn, have three children and three grandchildren.
